The apartment building on Syracuse’s near northeast side, was purchased and extensively renovated by Empire. The $6 million project preserved 37 units of low-income housing and transformed a deteriorating building into a neighborhood asset. Financing from the NYS Housing Trust Fund, the Federal Home Loan Bank, HOME funds from the City of Syracuse and NYSERDA made the project possible. Key Bank and The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) provided private bank financing.
